The Hilla Power Station project was one of the most complex
communication infrastructure deployments Digital Eye has
undertaken. Serving a 750 MW generation facility operated by
Iraq's Ministry of Electricity, the project required a complete
overhaul of all communication, surveillance, and data networking
systems across a sprawling multi-building industrial campus.
The Challenge
The existing infrastructure was outdated, fragmented, and
unable to support the operational demands of a modern power
generation facility. Communication between control rooms,
maintenance teams, and administrative offices was
unreliable, and the security surveillance system had
significant blind spots across the 45-hectare site.
Our Solution
Digital Eye deployed a fully integrated IP telephony
backbone using Grandstream UCM PBX systems, connected via a
redundant fiber optic ring topology. A new IP CCTV system
with 180+ cameras was installed across all critical zones,
integrated with a central monitoring station. The data
network was rebuilt from the ground up using
enterprise-grade switching and routing infrastructure.
The Outcome
The project was delivered on time and within budget,
resulting in a 94% improvement in internal communication
reliability, full surveillance coverage across all critical
zones, and a unified network infrastructure that now serves
as the backbone for the facility's digital transformation
roadmap.
